Thank You

I've been away from the blog for a while now, and it's helped me make up my mind about what I wanted to do with this space. After taking a break in the spring, I came back with ideas of changing this blog into more than just clothes. But personal style posts were my comfort zone and the quickest and easiest to crank out to just have something posted.

I started This Ever Evolving Life at a time when I needed to focus on finding my personal style and putting effort into my everyday looks. Between the journey I've taken here and the support and input from all of you who've ever stopped by to join me, I've learned a lot about my personal style and find that it's no longer a difficult thing to define. I've (for the most part) found what works for me, what makes me comfortable, and what I feel best in while still trying some new things and trying to keep up with the ever-changing world of style.

What I'm saying is that blogging has lost it's charm for me. It's helped me so much, and I've enjoyed it for so long, but it's time for me to find my joy in other places and in doing other things. This blog just isn't a priority anymore, so it's time to say goodbye. But it's only right to acknowledge what it and all of you have done for me along the way.

I'm still following your blogs, and though I'll admit that I've been commenting less, I'm still by your side!

Again, thank you thank you thank for having stuck with me through this journey to the end.

edit:  I've also decided to share one of the major changes going on in my personal life.  We are very excited to become parents in May!

On its Way

Over the last few days, I have definitely been feeling the signs of autumn's arrival. The temperatures are a little cooler in mornings and the sun is setting earlier. This past weekend I went to an Oktoberfest celebration with my best friend for her birthday and the weather was just right to comfortably wear jeans. It was still a bit warm, so I stuck with some darker colors for my almost-fall look.

This weekend Jim and I have plans to travel to the Bloomsburg Fair to gorge ourselves on hot sausages (him) and friend vegetables (me), with stops on the way back home to visit with family. I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Pinspired: White Pants and Grey Stripes

I know it's not really a fashion rule anymore, but I felt like a rebel wearing my white ankle pants after Labor Day! Over the summer, I saw this outfit on Pinterest and knew I could duplicate it for work. The weather forecast is showing the slow arrival of autumn, so I got this look in just in time.

The back to school germs hit me and I spent most of last week dealing with sinus pain and congestion so I stuck with my glasses all week.  Luckily it's mostly cleared up by now!

Tonal Plaid

As I've mentioned just a few times, it's still summer weather here.  I was worried that I wouldn't be able to join in with Bri for Third Thursday Threads: Plaid because all my plaid items are flannel plaid and certainly can't be worn right now. But luckily I had the tonal plaid surplice top I bought last month, which is also sleeveless and incredibly lightweight.

It was also fun for me to wear my wedding shoes with this particular outfit. Because they are cute and comfortable, I don't plan on storing them in a box forever!

Here are a few of my other plaid pieces waiting to be worn.

A Polka Dot Win

Saturday felt like a fall day. The temperatures were in the 60's and it rained all day. But last week and this week coming up are still hot, hot, hot. So I'm still making the most of the weather to wear my summer work clothes. This navy polka dot dress is extremely comfortable, and it was a huge hit at work. Not only did I receive compliments from a few coworkers, but students I had never met before were telling me in the hallway how much they liked it. If you want to make a good impression at an elementary school, just wear polka dots.
